Our Vision

CSAFE's vision is to be a successful and vibrant research centre that identifies practical pathways and theoretical insights to enhance social, cultural, environmental and economic wellbeing through exemplary research. 

We aim to achieve our vision through interdisciplinary research on issues relating to the future of food, agriculture, energy and the environment.   

We believe that local and traditional knowledge have a contribution alongside science and social science disciplines in addressing the complex social-environmental issues that face New Zealand and the globe.

Through our research, we aim to support our research partners? aspirations for greater resilience, and to work closely with them to identify policies, practices and pathways towards sustainability.
