Stephanie Rotarangi. The aim of improving forest policy and science was the key motivation for CSAFE PhD student, Stephanie Rotarangi, to undertake her research on the forest management decisions of Maori. This project aims to establish the constraints and enablers for Maori engaging in forestry (both plantation and indigenous) and then define how policy and forest science enhances or destroys such values. Stephanie's background is in both plantation forestry and environmental science and is one of this year's winners of the Foundation for Research, Science and Technology Te Tipu Putaiao Fellowships for research generating knowledge to benefit Maori and all New Zealanders."
