Mark Cooper is a Research Assistant at CSAFE and PhD Candidate in the Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mark's dissertation research examines the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme as a case of market-based environmental governance. Drawing upon approaches from economic geography, political ecology, and science studies, the project aims to understand the how international policy networks, the science of emissions measurement, and environmental politics affect the institutional design of greenhouse gas regulations. His work at CSAFE investigates the attitudes and behaviours of farmers in the pastoral sector in regard to climate change and the emissions trading scheme.
