Dr Julia Haggerty is an environmental historian and human geographer interested in environment-society relations in changing rural places. Julia's research focuses on the intersection of wildlife management and farming practices. She is currently studying the relationship of politics and regulations to the genealogy of environmental stewardship practices among resource users in the Mataura catchment on the South Island (NZ).

Julia received her PhD from the University of Colorado (USA) and has a particular interest in community-oriented, applied and interdisciplinary research approaches.
