Becky Schewe is a visiting PhD student from the Departments of Rural Sociology and Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Becky’s dissertation examines private environmental management standards and certifications within the New Zealand dairy industry. Taking the New Zealand industry as an extreme case of neoliberal globalization, the project examines the variation of non-governmental standards and certifications that have become common in the agrofood system.
