Speaker

Kent Palmer

OPEN AND FREE TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES

Abstract

Any form of agriculture is probably a dead end street. There doesn't look to be any way out of the mess we've created. Some ideas, evidence and anecdotes will be presented.

About the Speaker

Kent Palmer has worked as a fisheries biologist, commercial hunter and fisher, skier and many other odd jobs and has recently moved to a small 'farm' in South Canterbury. He was raised in the Michigan northwoods and kept migrating west. His PhD in environmental ethics was reluctantly granted from the University of Otago. After almost 20 years of 'globalization', he just smiles a lot.

About The SAC Series

SAC Meetings are a bi-monthly gathering of members of the University of Otago and greater Dunedin community who are interested in agricultural sustainability. The format will include short, informal presentations followed by Q&A and discussion.

Broad-ranging, convivial, and informal in nature, SAC Fridays are intended to provide a forum for rigorous, exploratory discussions about agricultural sustainability that bridge diverse disciplinary and professional perspectives.

All welcome—please circulate this invitation to friends and colleagues.
