Matt Harcombe and Bruce McNab, Federated Farmers
OPEN AND FREE TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES
This session aims to facilitate frank discussion following on from the reaction to Federated Farmers president Charlie Pedersen’s recent speech. This will be followed by an insight into the organisation’s RMA project. What is it, why is it happening, what is the focus and most importantly is there room for mutual agreement on a way forward for New Zealand on its key piece of environmental legislation? How might we return to enabling and supporting the ethic of sustainable management?
Matt Harcombe – Matt is a senior advisor with Federated Farmers of New Zealand. He has a rural background, an agricultural science degree, and experience in agricultural research and has been in his current policy position for five years. He has recently taken on the role of Project Manager for a national project with Federated Farmers looking at the impact of the RMA on farmers with an aim of delivering process and or legislative changes that will benefit members.
Bruce McNab – Bruce is a North Otago farmer who is President of the North Otago Province of FFNZ and environment spokesperson for Federated Farmers in his role on the Federations national board.
